Trauma Therapy

You don't have to keep carrying this alone. When past experiences feel like they're shaping your present, trauma therapy can help you find safety, process what happened & move forward at your pace.

Who is this for?

Trauma therapy could be for you if you:

  • Feel hijacked by memories, flashbacks or intrusive thoughts about something that happened to you

  • Notice patterns in your relationships that echo painful past experiences

  • Feel numb, disconnected, or like you're watching life from the outside

  • Struggle to feel safe, whether in your body, in relationships or in the world

  • Are exhausted from holding it all together & want support to heal rather than just surviving

Trauma can stem from a single overwhelming event e.g. a loss, an assault, a medical emergency or an accident. It can also build slowly over time, through childhood experiences, emotional neglect or feeling/being unsafe in a relationship. It can echo through generations, shaping family patterns you find yourself repeating.

Whatever the source, what you're experiencing is a valid response to what you have been through & healing is possible.

What can we help with?

  • Childhood & developmental trauma

  • Single-incident trauma

  • Complex trauma & ongoing abuse

  • Emotional & psychological abuse

  • Trauma from toxic or domestic violence relationships (see more here)

  • Intergenerational trauma (see further details here)

  • Vicarious trauma e.g. for carers & helping professionals

  • Birth Trauma (see more information here)

How trauma therapy works

Healing from trauma is about helping your nervous system recognise the danger has passed, so you can live in the present, instead of in survival mode.

In our sessions, we will move at a pace that feels safe for you. Using evidence-based, trauma informed & attachment aware approaches, we can work together to:

  • Understand how trauma has shaped your responses & relationships

  • Develop tools to manage overwhelm, dissociation & triggers

  • Process painful experiences so they feel less raw & present

  • Rebuild a sense of safety, trust & connection with yourself & others

  • Move towards a life that feels like yours again

You are the expert in your experiences. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion, not to push you beyond what you feel is manageable.
